Conservatively a factor of 2, but possibly much higher. Then multiply it by a factor of your choosing. Think about the resistance you face, especially from your non-technical users, anytime you upgrade a piece of software or go to a newer version of Windows. Same goes for any server-side or infrastructure tools (like your AV, deployment tools, replacement for Active Directory type service, etc). ![]() Also, if you have any more obscure software that's specific to your Manufacturing environment, it may not even be supported or available for the Mac. Similar to the above, you're going to need to acquire new copies of most of the software licenses you already own, since the licenses often don't translate across platforms. Now if you already have a hardware replacement schedule in place, it might not be a massive deal averaged over a bunch of years, but the initial hit is going to be a big one. ![]() Not to mention all the devices going end-of-life at approximately the same time, so rinse and repeat every 3 years or so. How much is it going to cost to decommission all your desktops, laptops, and servers, then purchase new ones? if you're going to rip and replace, that's going to be a huge upfront cost. ![]()
